Music Holds the pulse of Delhi Public School- East of Kailash- School Assembly, Theme Assembly, Cultural Events like Scholar Badge and Investiture Ceremony or the Inter School events, the music department is always alive. The school premise resounds round the clock with the choral sounds and strings of melodies accompanied by budding musicians. This session a new initiative has given the children a choice to learn either vocal music or instrumental or rhythm based Tabla or bongo, the Music Dept. rises to all the occasions and joyously contributes to all the programmes originally and innovatively. Large choirs in the Indian and the Western music and young soloists steal the heart of the audience whenever they perform.
‘Tabla’ has been introduced from classes I-V as a part of the instrumental Music Class. Here, children are taught
a) How to place the hands on the tabla.
b) Knowledge of various parts of tabla.
Also, small percussion instruments are being given to the children during the classes so that they understand rhythm. Children enjoy these classes and it gives them an opportunity to show their talent and improve their skills.
