World Book Day – 23/4/25

Delhi Public School, East of Kailash values the many benefits of independent reading time for children. The Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar has instituted various programmes to encourage reading among the staff and student body of Delhi Public School. In celebration of World Book Day, the students engaged in a day of reading, storytelling and games and puzzles on books. Storytelling sessions were organised for the different classes, followed by class discussions on characters, themes and motivations. The students then participated in a fun quiz on books and authors. Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) time, an initiative of the Principal, is something the children look forward to everyday and carry their books with them to read and later discuss with their classmates. The students learnt about World Book Day and the immense courage it took many authors to speak the truth and to stand up for what they believe. With these valuable lessons, the students gained a new perspective on books and reading.
