There is no frigate like a book
Delhi Public School, East of Kailash hosted the Scholar Badge Ceremony of Class IV and V for the academic session 2024-25, on 24th July 2025 on the theme, ‘There’s no Frigate Like a Book’. The event began on an auspicious note with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, the Principal of DPS R.K. Puram, Mr. Anil Kumar, the Headmistress, DPS East of Kailash, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa, and the grandparents and students of DPS East of Kailash, followed by the Invocation Dance. Ms. Usha Diptivilasa felicitated the Principal and extended a warm welcome to the gathering. She addressed the scholars and spoke on the importance of reading and the magical world of books. Her words of encouragement filled the young scholars with pride and confidence.
A rousing song titled ‘Drop Everything And Read’ followed, composed in-house by the school music teacher. A dance drama, ‘Read, Imagine, Fly’ followed on the heels of the song, celebrating the transformative power of books.
The Scholar Badge Ceremony then commenced, with the students receiving their badges and certificates from the Principal and the Headmistress. The Principal, in his address, commended the students on their hard work and highlighted the role that books play in helping the students accomplish their goals. The ceremony came to a close with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the Supervisor, Ms. Karuna Sharma, and the School Anthem.
