Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Rohit Mehra, known as the ‘Green Man of India,’ for his inspiring work on urban environmental restoration. The workshop began with a warm welcome by the Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa, who spoke about the importance of greenery in urban spaces and the need for environmental protection.
Mr. Mehra emphasised the urgent need to protect nature, reduce pollution, conserve water and plant more trees. He shared practical ways through which students can contribute to saving the environment, such as avoiding plastic and recycling waste. He then explained the concept of seed bombs and how they aid reforestation. The students then got hands-on experience of making seed bombs with cocopeat and clay. Mr. Mehra then distributed bird feeders and encouraged everyone to take the responsibility of filling them with water for birds and animals.
The workshop encourage the students to understand the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
