The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is India’s specialised, dedicated force created to respond to natural and man-made disasters. Delhi Public School, East of Kailash holds student and staff safety as the top most priority. A workshop was organised under the NDRF’s School Safety Programme, to ensure disaster preparedness and awareness of emergency protocols. Class III to V attended the workshop along with their teachers. The 16th Battalion of the NDRF showed different maneuvers to help and rescue those in need. The officials demonstrated how different injuries require different precautions while awaiting medical services. The proper way to administer CPR, carry an injured person and to swathe a fracture were demonstrated. Such workshops are necessary to empower children and staff members alike and ensure that they are able to handle unfamiliar situations safely and confidently.
