Commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash held a Special Assembly titled ‘Bapu’s Ideals – Today and Forever’, hosted by Class I on 26th September, 2025. The assembly emphasised Gandhiji’s beliefs and principles, highlighting his many contributions to this world.
The assembly began with an introduction to Gandhi and his 3 ‘Margdarshaks’ (see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil) and added two more – ‘see less TV’ and ‘don’t use mobile too much’. The students then depicted the Dandi March, along with a presentation of Gandhiji’s favourite bhajan, ‘Vaishnav Jan to’. The children then narrated the poem – ‘Koshish Karne Walon Ki’ and came together for a lively dance performance. Gandhiji’s efforts to save the environment were brought to the fore through dance and role play. His fearlessness and integrity were brought out through inspiring dance performances.
The special assembly was a reminder of the timeless values that Mahatma Gandhi stood for. Through poems, role‑plays, songs, and dance, the students of Class I brought to life the beliefs of non‑violence, perseverance, sustainable living, fearlessness and truth. The assembly inspired teachers and students alike to reflect on their actions and imbibe these qualities as well.
