EARTH DAY

Bill Nye once said, “To leave the world better than you found it, sometimes you have
to pick up other people’s trash.” Taking up the responsibility to make the Earth a
better place, the students of DPS East of Kailash dedicated the day to serving Mother
Nature, and hence attended a bagless day in school. Various activities were
conducted to raise awareness about the effects of climate change. A history of Earth
Day was shown to the students through a video presentation. Outdoor games and
quizzes based on various Earth conservation and preservation practices made learning
fun for the students and teachers alike. Reuse, reduce and recycle was the mantra.
Students created bags out of old t-shirts, recycled newspapers into papier-mâché
bowls and made best out of waste artwork. The day ended with a sense of
commitment in the student body to take up the challenge to preserve our natural
resources.
