Class 3 Movie Outing

On 26th April 2024, Class 3 students of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash were taken on an outing to a cinema hall. The students watched the animated film ‘Kung Fu Panda’. The students were eager to see it the fim. Through the film they learned about finding their inner strength and the importance of leading by example. They enjoyed their experience immensely and drew their favourite characters on their return to school. The students and teachers discussed the various animals they saw on screen and their importance in the ecology. They also discussed how pandas are on the verge of extinction and the importance of conservation. 

Class 2 Movie Outing 

The students of class 2, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash were taken to watch the film ‘Inside Out 2’ on 6 August 2024. The film depicts the role that different emotions play, and how to process them. The film was relevant to the students and they were able to identify various emotions they saw on screen. The students enjoyed the animated movie and discussed the emotions amongst themselves. On their return to school, the students spoke about their experience and importance of expressing your emotions. Later, they put their thoughts to paper and wrote a short paragraph on their Movie Day. 

EARTH DAY

Bill Nye once said, “To leave the world better than you found it, sometimes you have
to pick up other people’s trash.” Taking up the responsibility to make the Earth a
better place, the students of DPS East of Kailash dedicated the day to serving Mother
Nature, and hence attended a bagless day in school. Various activities were
conducted to raise awareness about the effects of climate change. A history of Earth
Day was shown to the students through a video presentation. Outdoor games and
quizzes based on various Earth conservation and preservation practices made learning
fun for the students and teachers alike. Reuse, reduce and recycle was the mantra.
Students created bags out of old t-shirts, recycled newspapers into papier-mâché
bowls and made best out of waste artwork. The day ended with a sense of
commitment in the student body to take up the challenge to preserve our natural
resources.

Fire Drill

Disaster preparedness is central to the safety of the students in school. A Fire Drill was organised
at DPS East of Kailash with the help of Delhi Disaster Management Authority to prepare the
students and staff for any natural disaster or emergency. At the ringing of the hooter, the order to
evacuate the school was delivered by the Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa ma’am. The students
displayed an impressive presence of mind and calmly followed their class teachers to the football
field. The firefighters demonstrated a rescue operation with local volunteers and medical
professionals. The Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, and the Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa,
welcomed Mr. Sushil Singh, Special CEO, Delhi Disaster Management to the school. Mr. Sushil Singh
addressed the students and commended their quick response and congratulated the management
for the successful evacuation. He held personal interactions with the students regarding safety and
preparedness and encouraged them to always be alert.
The Fire Drill empowered the students with knowledge that could save them and others in the
future.

EID CELEBRATIONS

‘The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people’. Delhi Public School East of Kailash
believes in honouring diverse cultural practices and celebrating diversity. The week leading up to
the festival of Eid Ul Fitr on 10th April, 2024, was filled with various activities for students. Story
telling sessions were held, detailing the origins of the festival. The morning began with prayers and
songs. The joy of sharing and togetherness was imbibed through activities like card making and gift
wrapping. The students took up the task of decorating their classroom with innovative craftwork
with jubilation and zeal.

ORIENTATIONS

A new year means new beginnings and fresh starts. The year 2024-25 started off with the School
Orientation Programmes to familiarise the parents with the examination system and school rules.
The parents were invited to Delhi Public School East of Kailash and the dynamic talent of EOK
students was put on display with a short cultural song and a spirited dance performance. Our
respected Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa welcomed the parents to the new session and invited
their enthusiastic participation in the various activities that will take place throughout the year.
The Class Teachers of the new session were introduced by the Academic Supervisor, Ms. Karuna
Sharma. The parents were apprised of the school rules and regulations as well as the system of
examinations and assessments that will be followed for classes 3,4 and 5. The session ended with a
warm interaction between the parents and the teachers.

Euphoric Ensembles-A Cultural Extravaganza

‘Culture is the widening of the mind and the spirit’ Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru once said. Culture builds bridges. It’s the fastest way to bring people closer. In order to cherish and preserve cultural diversity, ‘Euphoric Ensembles- a year end Cultural Extravaganza’ was organised at Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, on Saturday,17 February 2024. The school witnessed a stupendous cultural programme showcasing the diverse and rich culture of India. 

A proud alumna of the school, Ms. Gayatri Seth, inaugurated the show by invoking blessings to the almighty through her remarkable invocation dance of Bharatanatyam.Our talented young musicians further captivated the audience with their rhythmic assemblage. An amalgamation of classical Kathak and Spanish Flamenco whirled the spectators away to another dimension. Sports,which has always been an integral part of growth,was gloriously represented by the students through a vibrant dance cum gymnastics performance. Each moment came alive when the little vocalists took up the stage and enthralled everyone through their melodious notes. Last,but definitely not the least was the enticing Rajasthani folk dance, with jingling sounds of manjiras, performed with great precision and skill by the students.

The programme concluded with our respected Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, sharing her inspiring and thoughtful words of appreciation and encouragement..

Celebrations @50 DPS EoK

                                      The Carnival

                                   We Are Turning 50!!!!

The curtain raiser event for the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash was a Carnival! It was held on Sat 11 and Sun 12 February 2024, in the grounds of Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram.

The special attractions were Once Upon A Time, Jungle Retreat, Desi Superheroes, Marvel Magic, World of Wizards, Halloween, Pirates of the Classrooms and Let’s Explore Space. All of these were planned and implemented by the teachers, assisted enthusiastically in no small measure by parent volunteers.

The Carnival was a resounding success. The games, food, entertainment and the atmosphere were a sensory overload. Costumes, colour and charisma prevailed in abundance.The highlight was the Flash Mob-dancing on stage by the teachers, and joined in by the children and parents.

The joyous, smiling crowds were a fulfilling and delightful conclusion to the meticulous planning and organising.

Class III Annual Day

The relevance of Mahatma Gandhi, his principles, and his teachings were brought to life in a wonderful presentation of the annual day of class III.

The show, aptly titled Gandhi- Kal Bhi Aaj Bhi, brought to the fore the need for Gandhiji’s tenets of simple living and high thinking, even in todays day and age.

The depiction of these ideas were dramatised in the form of enactment, song and dance. The enthusiastic portrayals by the children of class III extended a vibrant and exuberant atmosphere over the day. The children understood completely what they were speaking about, and enjoyed themselves while doing so! As grandparents and parents reminisced, they were also reminded of the need to follow Gandhiji’s ideology, moreso in our trying times and circumstances.

Breakfast with Daddies- Nursery

‘Breakfast with family is a big treat to start a great weekend.’

The weekend came early for our tiny tots of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, when their dear fathers were invited to spend some quality time with the children, at breakfast. The children and their fathers teamed up to prepare their own healthy breakfast in the Cooking Without Fire activity. The children and their father took part in the activity with great fervour. 

The delicacies prepared didn’t just satisfy the taste buds but also escalated the feeling of love and togetherness amongst all. It was indeed a treat for the eyes to see the students embracing the day with open arms and a plate full of taste and health.
