Early Years 1&2 Programme-Cambridge

The tiny tots of our Cambridge Early Years 1&2, corresponding to Nursery and Prep, are enjoying the progamme tremendously. The emphasis here is on extensive hands-on learning. Activities relating to Independence Day, Janamasthami, fun play using natural materials, and learning letters and words in a creative manner are just some of the interesting pursuits occupying the hands and minds of our youngest learners. The small number of children in a class, along with two teachers, in the Cambridge programme ensures plenty of opportunities and undivided attention for each student.

Independence Day

Independence Day Activity On 15 August 2023, India witnessed the 77th Independence Day. To commemorate this auspicious occasion, students paid homage to the valiant souls who fought gallantly for our peace by participating in various activities. The students showcased their creative side and collectively aspired for a brighter tomorrow. The spirit of patriotism became alive through tricolour badge making, tricolour fan making, poster making, paragraph writing and role play activity. The entire school was awash with the colours of our flag- saffron, white and green. The zeal and enthusiasm with which the students participated was admirable. We at DPS hope to organise more such events that provide the students a platform to bring out their innate talent and at the same time develop the values, principles and ethics of being a morally right citizen.

Lemonade Making

Beat the heat!
The start of summer means the start of scorching heat. To keep ourselves cool and fresh, we at Delhi Public School, EoK, had a lemonade making activity in all classes. The children brought ingredients from home and assembled the lemonade in class. Innovative additions to the lemonade caused shouts all around of “Yummy!”, “Wow! It’s delicious.”, “So cool!” The excitement of making something themselves kept the heat pangs at bay! The children had brought decorative glasses and straws, along with mats/napkins, to keep their work area clean.

Eid-ul-Fitr

Eid was celebrated in Delhi Public School, East of Kailash , in April 2023. A special assembly was held on the P.A. system, commemorating the occasion. Each class saw a video on the story behind Eid, on their classroom Brio board. The students of Nur-II did interesting craftwork related to Eid. Classes III-V had a gift wrapping activity. They used recycled paper with innovative craft items made of waste material. The empty boxes brought by the children were beautifully decorated with these. The spirit of giving during Eid was highlighted.

Activities for Lifeskills

To encourage independence and self- reliance, we practice certain lifeskill requirements in a fun manner. At DPS EoK we constantly endeavour to make the children take care of their belongings, as well as themselves. Lifeskill activities are an interactive way of taking pride in oneself. In May 2023, classes III-V had an activity for folding clothes and buttoning shirts. They did these in class, and felt very proud at being able to do so independently. The children promised to fold their clothes neatly at home henceforth, as well as help their parents in doing so!
