Felicitation and Award Ceremony of Class V was held on the 3rd of February, 2025. The Ceremony was held to celebrate fitness, self-confidence, and the winning spirit in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The event began with a warm welcome by the Headmistress Ms. Usha Diptivilasa who always motivates the students to reach for the stars and give their best. The students of Class V then commenced with the March Past led by the Sports Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects. The disciplined and synchronised Class V Contingent then stood in attention as they took the Oath, administered by the Headmistress. This was followed by the Workout Routine, a physical training drill that enhances focus and concentration as well as basic health and fitness. The students wrapped up their performance with ‘Dreamers’, a Victory Song that celebrates the toil and hard work one must undertake on one’s journey towards success. The song set the tone for the Award Distribution Ceremony that followed it, felicitating the outstanding achievements of the students of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The event came to a close with the National Anthem.
Visit to New Delhi World Book Fair 2025 (Class V)
Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, organised a visit to the New Delhi World Book Fair at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on Friday, 7th February 2025. The Presidents, along with the members of English, and Hindi Literary Guilds accompanied their teachers to the fair, and visited a variety of stalls set up by different publishing houses. The book fair was buzzing with activities, interactive sessions, storytelling workshops and other readers discussing their favourite books and authors. The students explored a variety of genres and authors, discovering new books as they stopped at different stalls. Such an experience is important to instill a love of reading in children, and open the world of books to them. The students returned to school with a long list of books that they would like to read. They are eagerly awaiting the next book fair.
Class I Annual Day
The Annual Day of Class I was held on the 17th of February. Based on the theme, ‘A Splash of Colours’, the event brought the colours of VIBGYOR onto the stage. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, and the Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa. Ms. Usha Diptivilasa then addressed the gathering and welcomed the parents to the special event. The students of class I charted a journey of colours through various songs and dances, beginning with a colourless island, and ending with a true ‘splash’ of colours on the stage. The grand finale brought different hues together, creating a rainbow of talent and skill. The event closed with the Principal addressing the audience. His encouraging words resonated with everyone in attendance. The joy and exuberance of the students made this a truly memorable event for the parents and children alike.
Prep Annual Day
The Peppy Preppers of Delhi Public School held their Annual Day on 7th February on the theme ‘Hugs of Music’. The event started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa and a warm welcome address. The universal language of music brings everyone together, across cultures and generations. The students of Prep sang and danced to a medley of timeless classics, giving them a unique touch of their own. The line up included ‘Do Re Mi’, ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Daddy Cool’ and ‘We Are The World’.
The Grand Finale, ‘Top of the World’, brought the Annual Day to a close. The tiny tots of Prep put in tremendous effort in the show. The powerhouse of talent is evident in the budding stars emerging in Delhi Public School, East of Kailash.
Class V Korean Cultural Centre Outing
On 23rd October 2024, Class 5 students of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash were taken on an outing to the Korean Cultural Centre. The students were shown a presentation on Korea and the different aspects of Korean culture. The students then learned about traditional Korean music and dress. The children were then introduced to Korean games like ‘Chigi Chagi’ which held them engrossed. Ms Usha Diptivilasa, the Headmistress, also graced the event and participated in the activities along with the children. An introductory session of Taekwondo was then conducted for the children which highlighted the importance of self-defence as well as physical and mental well-being. The trip concluded with a brief visit to the library and a quick bite of Korean food.
Class I Movie Outing
On 22th October 2024, Class 1 students of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash were taken to a cinema hall to watch a film. The students watched the animated film ‘Paws of Fury’. Through the movie, they learned to embrace who they are and to celebrate differences. They enjoyed their experience immensely. On their return, the teachers encouraged the students to speak about the unique abilities of the different characters. Later, the students drew their favourite characters and presented it to the class.
The Investiture Ceremony
The Investiture Ceremony of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash took place on 24th December, 2025. It was a momentous occasion for the students, as they assumed their leadership roles. Recognising the importance of teamwork and collaboration, the theme of the Investiture Ceremony was ‘Never Walk Alone’. The event began on an auspicious note with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, the Principal of DPS R.K. Puram, Mr. Anil Kumar, and the Headmistress, DPS East of Kailash, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa and followed by the Invocation Dance. Ms. Usha Diptivilasa felicitated the Principal and the School Band regaled everyone with a performance of ‘Together We Can’. Bringing the theme of the event to the fore, the Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa addressed the gathering, and encouraged the students to seek strength and inspiration from their fellow schoolmates. A dance performance titled ‘Panch Ungli Bane Muthi’, followed, with dancers displaying the qualities of trust, teamwork and discipline that any good leader should work towards. The Rainbow Dance brought the vibrancy of VIBGYOR on the stage and showcased the importance of retaining diversity while working towards a common goal.
The students marching to the drum beat embodied discipline and focus. It was a proud moment for all the parents in attendance as their wards received their badges. With inspiring words from the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, the students set their sights on the future with hope and confidence.
Korean Storytelling
Delhi Public School, East of Kailash and the newly inducted Theatre Club members organised a storytelling session in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Centre on 16th January, 2025. ‘Faithful Daughter Sim Cheong’, a Korean folktale about the bond between a father and daughter was enacted by the presenters. The story, depicted through minimal props, transcended cultural barriers and held the students enthralled. The students gained much insight into theatre and storytelling, especially the use of a sparse set and few actors. At the wrap of the session, the students posed their questions to the presenters who graciously interacted with the children and answered their questions. Snippets from ‘Aladdin Reimagined’, a part of the 50 years’ celebrations, were re-enacted by the members of the Theatre Club. The session renewed the students’ interest in theatre and the different ways in which a story is depicted on the stage.
It was an enriching experience for the students and incited an interest not only in different cultures and folktales but also the nitty gritties of theatre and storytelling.
Academic Fair- Learning Beyond Textbooks
Taking the learning out of textbooks and classroom, the student-led Academic Fair showcased learning in its many forms. Held on the 16th of October, the Fair aimed to provide students with hands-on learning through experiments, games, word play and drama. The students of Classes III, IV and V ran the fair, and turned into educators, setting up different stalls and exhibits. The students showcased truly out of the box thinking in the working models and experiments for EVS. They articulately took the parents through the various stages of the experiments while explaining the science behind it. The various concepts in Mathematics that might seem daunting in the classroom, became easy to demonstrate through games. Large dice and pizza slices helped students and parents understand fractions and ratios while having fun! Tongue twisters, rhymes, puppet shows, and language games made the little litterateurs masters of both Hindi and English. The Fair brought out the many talents that the children have, while teaching them other skills necessary to pull off such an event.
Experiential learning is vital for the holistic development of children. Opportunities, such as the Academic Fair ensures that children learn to think in different ways and apply their learning out of the classrooms as well.

The Golden Jubilee celebration of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, was held at Siri Fort Auditorium on Saturday, 17 August 2024. The show was a commemoration of the distinguished institution and its glorious legacy. From its humble origins fifty years ago, till date, the school has continued to achieve greater heights every year, and established itself as an eminent institution it is known as today. The Golden Jubilee Celebration was the pinnacle of the many successes of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The ‘Celebrations@50’ honoured the school’s glorious past, acknowledged the laurels earned and contributions made by teachers, students and all other staff members, and embraced the challenges of the future.
The programme commenced with a heartfelt invocation to the Almighty to bless the gathering and sanctify the event through the Lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest Sri V.K. Shunglu, Chairman, Managing Committee DPS RK Puram and Mrs. Shunglu; Members of the Managing Committee, DPS Society- Mrs. Namita Pradhan, Shri Ravi Vira Gupta, Mr. Rahul Singh, Dr. Mrs. Kiran Datar, Ms. Vrinda Sarup and Justice Vipin Sanghi and Mrs. Sanghi; the Principal Ms. Padma Srinivasan; the Vice Principals Mr. Naresh Miglani, Mr. Anil Kathuria and Mr. Mukesh Kumar; Headmistress of the host school DPS East of Kailash, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa actively partook in this auspicious beginning. Headmistresses of DPS R.K. Puram, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra and Ms. Anubha Gopal, Headmistress of DPS Vasant Vihar, Ms. Vinita Gupta, also graced the occasion.
The Orchestra performance, put together by the young virtuosos of DPS, East of Kailash began the show with an ensemble that immersed the auditorium in a contemporary symphony. The dazzling rendition of MoFunk by the band Advaita, a composition that lifted the spirits of the performers and enraptured the audience, had everyone tapping their feet with the rhythm.
Thereafter, the esteemed guests were felicitated by the Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan and the Headmistress Ms. Usha Diptivilasa. The Principal addressed the gathering, and conveyed her profound gratitude for their overwhelming support throughout the journey. She thanked the Chairman, the Members of the Managing Committee, the Principals of the other branches, Ex Principals and Headmistresses, retired teachers and distinguished Alumni for being a part of the legacy of the school and their contributions to the institution and its rich and illustrious history.
This was followed by an Invocation Dance, which called upon the Divinity to shower his grace upon us.
The Chairman, Managing Committee DPS RK Puram, Sri V.K. Shunglu addressed the audience. He expressed his confidence in the school which stands as an institution par excellence and leads the way in path breaking innovation in the field of education. His unwavering support has been a source of strength to the institution.
A short film followed, showcasing snapshots and glimpses of the Curtain Raiser to the Golden Jubilee Celebrations held in February 2024. The Children’s Carnival, buzzing with music, dance, games, food stalls, fun and frolic had kickstarted the year’s celebrations. This two day fest generated anticipation for the event, and made way for the celebrations in August.
‘Aladdinn Reimagined’ – The age old story of Aladdin and the Genie from the iconic 1001 Nights/Arabian Nights was retold with a twist. An amalgamation of music, art, dance, theatre and graphics created an exceptional production, truly one of its kind in concept and staging. The young thespians of DPS East of Kailash brought this gripping tale to stage and held the audience spellbound.
As the theatrical production drew to a close, the students came together in a celebratory song to honour the Golden Jubilee of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The lively performance showcased the powerhouse of talent that is the student body of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The song reinvigorated the audience and raised the spirits in the auditorium.
The Vote of Thanks proposed by the Headmistress, Ms Usha Diptivilasa, brought the evening to a close. The show ended with the National Anthem.
‘Celebrations@50’ stands as a proud moment in the history of an institution that has stood the test of time. It brought out the very best and showcased the dynamism and spirit of more than 300 students, teachers, resource persons and other well-wishers, under the leadership of the Principal and Headmistress of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash.
