Diwali – the Festival of Lights – was brought to life in a scintillating presentation
by Class 1. A mix of song and dance, decorations and flowers, enthralled
everyone. The entire school joined in with the singing of popular Diwali songs.
All look forward to celebrating the festival of hope and joy.
Dussehra
The victory of good over evil – this is the underlying message of Dussehra. The prayer that ‘May truth always triumph’ inspires this festival and symbolizes the Hindu god, Ram’s, vanquishing the ten headed demon king, Ravan.
The children wholeheartedly enjoyed making drawings and puppets relating to Dussehra. A puppet show for the Nursery sections was enthusiastically enjoyed by our little ones. Stories relating to Dussehra, and its celebrations in different ways were shared by the children.
GANDHI JAYANTI
The 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi- the Father of the Nation- was celebrated with an assembly depicting aspects of his wonderful, awe-inspiring life. Important events like the Dandi March, spinning of the charkha, and some scenes of the fight for independence were highlighted. The use of Mahatma Gandhi’s personal belongings were also spoken about. The entire school sang the bhajans Gandhiji was fond of. Activities emphasing the principles of his teachings were done. ‘See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil’- was an inherent guiding light for the Mahatma, one which the children of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash pledged to adhere to.
Hindi Diwas
Hindi Diwas commemorates the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India, on 14th September, 1949. Delhi Public School, East of Kailash celebrated Hindi Diwas this year, on 14th September, 2022.
Interesting activities relating to Hindi and its importance were done in all the classes. Children participated enthusiastically in recitation, doha speaking, story telling, art and craft work on family ties and values. It was a colourful and festive commemoration.
