The assembly of III-A, on the theme ‘Every day is mother’s day’ was an ode to our creators, our mothers. The assembly began with remembering the Almighty, the creator of the entire universe. This was followed by an invocation dance depicting the various forms of Maa Durga. After this, the children recited some beautiful self composed poems for their mothers which left everyone spellbound. This was followed by a small skit on the hardwork and dedication of mothers. The students recited a poem, performed a group song, danced with hula hoops and even cooked for their mothers in order to make them feel truly loved and special. The children then surprised their mothers with unique hand made cards to commemorate the occasion. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem followed by a group photograph.
Delhi Public School, East of Kailash values the many benefits of independent reading time for children. The Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar has instituted various programmes to encourage reading among the staff and student body of Delhi Public School. In celebration of World Book Day, the students engaged in a day of reading, storytelling and games and puzzles on books. Storytelling sessions were organised for the different classes, followed by class discussions on characters, themes and motivations. The students then participated in a fun quiz on books and authors. Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) time, an initiative of the Principal, is something the children look forward to everyday and carry their books with them to read and later discuss with their classmates. The students learnt about World Book Day and the immense courage it took many authors to speak the truth and to stand up for what they believe. With these valuable lessons, the students gained a new perspective on books and reading.
‘उत्तम सुख निरोगी काया’ – Perfect happiness lies in a healthy body, is an ideal held in high regard by Mr. Anil Kumar, Principal, Delhi Public School, RK Puram. The students are encouraged to carry a wholesome snack and bring a nutritious tiffin box everyday. On 22nd April, 2025, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash also organised a mindful-eating drive with different classes raising awareness about health and fitness through a healthy tiffin. The students were encouraged to carry a ‘colourful’ tiffin with various food groups to make a balanced meal – a Super Lunch Box and a Green Gourmet Box for Classes I and III. The students of Class II made a fruit and vegetable rainbow and decided to ‘Eat a Rainbow’ everyday. The students of Classes IV and V made salads and healthy sandwiches with hung curd and fresh vegetables. Poshan Abhiyaan is an ongoing initiative that helps the students prioritise health and wellness by making informed choices about food.
Following the mantra, “Think Green, Act Clean”, the students and staff of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash observed Earth Day as a Bagless Day. The day was dedicated to raising awareness about climate change, and more importantly, the role of the individual in saving the planet. The day started with the planting of a sapling by the Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa, accompanied by the students. The students participated in various activities like Create Out of Waste and Clean Tiffin to incorporate Reuse, Reduce, Recycle into their daily lives. The students went on a nature walk through the school and made notepads out of waste paper and discarded materials. In Show and Tell, the students explained how they sourced various waste materials to create new and useful things for themselves. The day ended with a sense of commitment in the student body to take up the challenge to preserve our natural resources.
The academic year 2025-26 started off with the School Orientation Programme of Class V. The programme was held on 1st April 2025 and began with the Class V Rep, Ms. Monica Sharma and Ms. Usha Diptivilasa Headmistress, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash welcoming the parents. The students set the tone of the event with a soulful melody and an inspiring dance performance. Ms. Usha Diptivilasa then addressed the parents and invited their enthusiastic participation in the various activities that will take place throughout the year. Ms. Karuna Sharma, Academic Supervisor, introduced the class teachers and the subject teachers of Class V. This was followed by a round- up of the assessment system by the Examination In-charge, Ms. Ruchira Bajpai. The session ended with a warm interaction between the parents and the teachers.
ORIENTATION CLASS II
With the dawn of the new session, the parents of Class II were invited to attend the Orientation Programme held on 2nd April, 2025. The Rep of Class II, Ms. Nilambri Gupta welcomed the parents to the orientation and the event began with a calming melody, followed by an inspiring dance performance by the students. The parents were then apprised of the various school rules and regulations by which the students must abide. Ms. Usha Diptivilasa, Headmistress, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash then addressed the parents and invited their cooperation as the new session begins. Ms. Karuna Sharma, Academic Supervisor, introduced the class teachers and the subject teachers of Class II. The session ended with a warm interaction between the parents and the teachers.
ORIENTATION CLASS IV
Class IV opened the new session with the Orientation Programme aimed at ensuring open communication with the parents. The Class IV Rep, Ms. Armeet Kaur extended a warm welcome to the parents which was followed by a melody and a lively dance performance. The parents were then apprised of the various school rules and regulations by which the students must abide. Ms. Usha Diptivilasa, Headmistress, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash then addressed the parents and welcomed the eager involvement of students in school activities. The orientation aimed at familiarising the parents with the Third Language, introduced in Class IV. Ms. Karuna Sharma, Academic Supervisor, introduced the class teachers and the subject teachers of Class IV. This was followed by an account of the assessment system, including Third Language assessment, by the Examination In-charge, Ms. Ruchira Bajpai. The session ended with a warm interaction between the parents and the teachers.
ORIENTATION CLASS III
Class III held the Orientation Programme on 2nd April, 2025. The Rep of Class III, Ms. Shalini Khandelwal welcomed the parents and invited Ms. Usha Diptivilasa, Headmistress, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, to address the gathering. The parents were encouraged to ensure that the students maintain a balance between academics and co-curricular activities. This was followed by a short cultural programme by the students. Ms. Karuna Sharma, Academic Supervisor, then introduced the class teachers and the subject teachers of Class III.
Ms. Ruchira Bajpai, Examination In-charge, outlined the annual assessment system, including internal assessments. This was followed by an orientation of the assessment system, including Third Language assessment. The session ended with a warm interaction between the parents and the teachers.
ORIENTATION NURSERY
Nursery held the Orientation on 21st March 2025 to welcome the parents Delhi Public School, East of Kailash and apprise them of the various rules and regulations to be observed. The Orientation began with a short cultural programme followed by a video presentation of School Achievements which showcased the activities, programmes and events hosted by the school. The parents were informed about the two boards offered by the school, CBSE and Cambridge, as well as the salient features of each. Mr. Anil Kumar, Principal, Delhi Public School, RK Puram extended a warm welcome to the parents and urged them to be a part of the DPS fraternity. Ms. Usha Diptivilasa, Headmistress, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, urged the parents to join, with enthusiasm, the various activities and initiatives the school offers. This was followed by parent interaction which helped the parents achieve some clarity on the school norms. The interaction was much appreciated by the parents.
ORIENTATION PREP
Prep Orientation was held on 1st April, 2025, in the respective classrooms. The parents visited the classes and interacted with the teachers. The teachers spoke about the play-way method of learning, of learning through experience and activity which is essential for young minds. The different books and notebooks were shown to the parents who were able to clear any queries. The parents were shown a presentation detailing the various rules and expectations of the school. The Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa visited each classroom and warmly greeted the parents, welcoming them to the orientation. The parents and the teachers were eager to begin the new session with the tiny tots.
ORIENTATION CLASS I

Celebrating grit, hardwork and the unbeatable spirit, the Felicitation and Award Ceremony of Class III was held on the 6rd of February, 2025. The students turned to their role model, their guide and mentor, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa, Headmistress, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash to begin the event with her words of wisdom. The Class III Cohort then marched in with discipline and determination and took the Oath administered by the Headmistress. Inspiring self belief and confidence in the young athletes, the Class III Choir sang ‘Dreamers’. This was followed by a dance performance that energised the students as well as the audience members. This was followed by the Award Distribution Ceremony, felicitating the outstanding achievements of the students of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The event came to a close with the National Anthem.
Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are essential to a child’s holistic development and are an integral part of the school year in Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The Felicitation and Award Ceremony of Class IV was held on 4th February, 2025. Symbolising the spirit of sportsmanship, the event kicked off with a balloon release by Mr Anil Kumar, Principal, Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram and Ms. Usha Diptivilasa, Headmistress, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The Headmistress then welcomed the guests, and addressed the audience. The Class IV Cohort, confident and focussed, then marched in. The Oath was administered by the Principal. To fill the space with joy and inspiration, the music choir of class IV sang ‘Dreamers’, a Victory Song. With spirits and expectations, both running high, Class IV brought energy and passion onto the field with a Zumba routine. The bright young stars of Class IV were then appreciated and honoured for their achievements in the Felicitation and Award Ceremony presided over by the Principal. The young achievers listened carefully as the Principal addressed the gathering and encouraged the student body to never give up. The event came to a close with the National Anthem.
Felicitation and Award Ceremony of Class V was held on the 3rd of February, 2025. The Ceremony was held to celebrate fitness, self-confidence, and the winning spirit in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The event began with a warm welcome by the Headmistress Ms. Usha Diptivilasa who always motivates the students to reach for the stars and give their best. The students of Class V then commenced with the March Past led by the Sports Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects. The disciplined and synchronised Class V Contingent then stood in attention as they took the Oath, administered by the Headmistress. This was followed by the Workout Routine, a physical training drill that enhances focus and concentration as well as basic health and fitness. The students wrapped up their performance with ‘Dreamers’, a Victory Song that celebrates the toil and hard work one must undertake on one’s journey towards success. The song set the tone for the Award Distribution Ceremony that followed it, felicitating the outstanding achievements of the students of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The event came to a close with the National Anthem.
Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, organised a visit to the New Delhi World Book Fair at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on Friday, 7th February 2025. The Presidents, along with the members of English, and Hindi Literary Guilds accompanied their teachers to the fair, and visited a variety of stalls set up by different publishing houses. The book fair was buzzing with activities, interactive sessions, storytelling workshops and other readers discussing their favourite books and authors. The students explored a variety of genres and authors, discovering new books as they stopped at different stalls. Such an experience is important to instill a love of reading in children, and open the world of books to them. The students returned to school with a long list of books that they would like to read. They are eagerly awaiting the next book fair.
The Annual Day of Class I was held on the 17th of February. Based on the theme, ‘A Splash of Colours’, the event brought the colours of VIBGYOR onto the stage. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, and the Headmistress, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa. Ms. Usha Diptivilasa then addressed the gathering and welcomed the parents to the special event. The students of class I charted a journey of colours through various songs and dances, beginning with a colourless island, and ending with a true ‘splash’ of colours on the stage. The grand finale brought different hues together, creating a rainbow of talent and skill. The event closed with the Principal addressing the audience. His encouraging words resonated with everyone in attendance. The joy and exuberance of the students made this a truly memorable event for the parents and children alike.
